CAPITAL PRIDE HEROES GALA
The Annual Capital Pride Heroes Gala is the perfect way to kickoff Pride week. Capital Pride’s Heroes Gala presented by Hilton Worldwide and hosted by DCHistory, honors outstanding individuals, leaders, and activists who have furthered the causes important to the LGBTA community in the national capital region and beyond. Don your elegant attire and join us for an evening inside the iconic Carnegie Library at Mt. Vernon Square. PRIDE: THE COVEN GIRLS PRESENT FACTORY GIRLS
Along with their monthly event, Coven DC is hosting a special pride edition party on June 3 at Smith Public Trust. The organizers are bringing you the DJs of FACTORY GIRLS, a group that showcases queer talent and celebrates feminity, regardless of gender or sexuality. Factory Girls is co-produced by DJs Gun$ Garcia (Philadephia), Katie Rex (New York), and Suga Shay (Los Angeles). Tickets will increase as the event gets closer. OFFICIAL CAPITAL PRIDE WOMEN’S KICKOFF PARTY
The women’s kickoff party gives you the opportunity to support a healthy cause and have a great time! This event will be the first LGBTQ event of its kind at the Warner Theatre located in Washington, D.C. Presented by the Mautner Project of Whitman-Walker Health and hosted by Tagg Magazine and the Ladies of LURe, this event encourages guests to dress fun and festive, while dancing on the stage. $35 – Delicious food and dancing all night; $100 – Open bar, delicious food and dancing all night. LADIES TEA PRIDE EDITION
Now in its third year, the monthly Ladies Tea at Hank’s Oyster Bar is hosting their annual pride ladies tea. The event brings out over 150 people from the queer community. This free event offers drink specials, raw bar specials, and pride tunes throughout the day. In addition, there will be a very special performance from D.C.’s own CooLots! WOMEN’S NIGHT OF EXPRESSION
Formerly known as Capital Pride Women’s Spoken Word, this annual event has become a staple in the queer women’s community. The event includes a diverse chorus of voices, professional spoken word and burlesque performers, open mic rookies, and acoustic musicians. This year’s event is being held at Busboys & Poets located at 1025 5th Street NW, Washington, D.C. LESBIANS WHO TECH PRIDE CODING CLASS + HAPPY HOUR
This event proves that pride doesn’t have to be all parties, all the time…it can be educational too! Are you interested in learning more about coding? Or connecting with other techies? Or just wanting to meet other queer women? Join Lesbians Who Tech and Dev Bootcamp at the newest bourbon distillery, Republic Restoratives for a Happy Hour and Coding Class hosted by Women Who Code. Women Who Code will be providing a small introduction to HTML/CSS workshop for 12 interested attendees and for those interested in learning more about the inner workings of the distillery. THE BIG, QUEER JEWISH HAPPY HOUR
Anyone who has been to a GLOE or Nice Jewish Girls event, knows that these organizations know how to party. CAPITAL PRIDE FESTIVAL
Join thousands of LGBTQ community members and allies for the annual Capital Pride Festival presented by Hot 99.5. Come out and meet hundreds of community organizations, businesses, and social groups that cater to the LGBTQ community. There will also be at least two stages with local performers throughout the day. This year’s headliners are Meghan Trainor and Charlie Puth, including Melanie Martinez and Alex Newell. And, D.C. loves their RuPaul’s Drag Race queens, so this season’s winner Bob the Drag Queen and runner-up Naomi Smalls will also be making an appearance on the main stage.
