Growing up in two musical households, Tina fell in love with dance very quickly. She started at the age of 2 with ballet and tap, then moved on to jazz in later years. With her father being a ballroom dance entertainer, she was exposed to partner dancing early on. She started dancing ballroom at age 11, training specifically in mambo. Eventually Tina found herself in a Latin club and completely fell in love. She directed Alma Boston’s bachata team for 5 seasons, travels the country performing and teaching, and continues to train in all forms of dance including ballet, jazz, contemporary, hip hop, modern, Latin, and African dancing. As a queer female lead and follow, she has become a major advocate for individual empowerment and expression.
What is bachata? What is fusion?
