DESCRIPTION:Join us every 2nd & 4th Thursday from 12PM-1PM (ET) for Peer Support Space‘s Parenting While LGBTQ+ Group: A peer-led digital gathering for all parents who are LGBTQ+ \nWho is this space for? \n\nAll expecting\, new\, seasoned parents as well as “bonus humans” to children’s lives. Birth\, adoptive\, unconventional\, step and otherwise self-defined parents. We welcome anyone that is taking care of\, rearing\, nurturing\, or care taking another human.\nThis group is centered around those that are transgender\, nonbinary\, multiple gender loving\, lesbian\, gay\, asexual\, intersex- all genders and sexual and romantic orientations are welcome\, as are all relationship styles (including polyamory) and/or parenting styles. Basically\, anyone under the LGBTQ+ umbrella – however you define yourself\, come as you are.\nParents who are allies to the LGBTQ+ community are welcome as well.\n\nIn this space we invite conversations around parenting- you are welcome to just vent or ask for advice. We also make space for conversations NOT about parenting because we are humans and have lives outside of parenting. This is equally a space to seek support as it is to build friendships with other parents who are LGBTQ+ and allies. \nOn This Call We: \n\nWe understand that this is a non-clinical\, peer group of people supporting people.\n\n\nWe encourage you to meet your needs and come as you are.\n\n\nWe welcome discussion of any topic. However\, we recognize those on the call are not medical professionals.\n\n\nWelcome all parenting styles and birthing plans with non-judgement.\n\n\nWe ask before giving advice\, and give advice using “I” statements.\n\n\nWe are welcoming of ALL parents regardless of who gave birth\, sexual orientation\, and gender- If you identify as a parent\, you are welcome!\n\n\nWe give everyone an equal chance to share.\n\nAs parents\, we know how busy parents can get! It is totally okay if you hop on late or have your kids with you during a call. You are welcome to have your video on or off\, bring a fuzzy blanket\, be cooking dinner mid call\, be who knows where\, or to do whatever to meet your needs! No registration is required to attend\, simply hop on whenever you feel the group will be beneficial for you that day! We can’t wait to connect with other parents in a supportive\, non-judgemental environment where it’s okay to share all the unique struggles and joys of parenting.

DESCRIPTION:Lotus meets regularly on the 2nd Friday of every month at 6:30 p.m. ET. \n\n\nLotus is a group led for and by the Asian LGBTQ+ in Central Florida (open to anyone 18+\, anywhere). The group aims to forge community for all Asian LGBTQ+ communities by creating a space to get together to form friendships as we discuss a multitude of topics; some as heavy as the pressures of expectation to light topics like our favorite food. \nThis space was created because there is a lack of mental health spaces that are culturally cognizant of the Asian communities unique challenges. \nIn this group we: \n\nWelcome all genders and sexual orientations\nWelcome snacks\, especially those that are unique to your culture.\nAccept all those who are out\, in the closet\, questioning\, or just along for the ride.\nAre non-judgmental and uplifting\nAre not a dating service; we are friends who allow ourselves to be vulnerable\nAllow all individuals to have a chance to speak\nKeep things anonymous unless given consent to share\nAre mindful that everyone’s situations are unique and embrace differences with compassion\n\nWhile we acknowledge that “Asian” is an umbrella term encompassing many subcultures. We strive to be inclusive and welcoming of everyone while avoiding beliefs rooted in ethnicism\, colorism\, or classism. This group welcomes all those of all Asian backgrounds including\, but not limited to\, those that are biracial\, adopted\, or immigrants. Those of all sexual orientations\, genders\, ages\, and disabilities as well as those of diverse neurological\, racial\, religious\, and cultural backgrounds are welcomed. \nYou do not need to share to attend. Your role as a supportive listener is equally as important.
