Describe yourself in a six-word sentence.

To be original is to live.

What was the last thing you shared on social media?

Ah, well it depends. On Facebook it was a clip of The Cosby Show where Claire Huxtable tells Elvin about reciprocity in a marriage, and on Instagram I shared a photo of a friend of mine and her baby cousin at her baby shower.

What do you think is the main challenge facing LGBTQ people in your community?

I think one of the main things LGBTQ people (mostly QTPOC) is space. A place for us to be comfortable and not have anxiety or have a sense of displacement.

What is your favorite LGBTQ business where you live?

Qulture Collective. I like the fact that it is not only a cafe but also an event space that revolves around community and is a resource hub.

What advice do you have for people looking to crack it in photography?

For advice for someone who wants to become a photographer, I would definitely say, keep learning. Learn your craft and your style of capturing photos. Even though I’ve been doing photography for about 6 years, I’m still learning everything about it, even the logistics of business. I love the fact that it’s never ending learning because that means the art of it can never be stagnant. You also learn yourself throughout the process. So keep learning.
