In the lead up to the NYC Pride March on 28 June, Rainbow Fashion Week is a fashion focused festival celebrating emerging queer brands and collaborations representing of the talent of LGBTQ communities.
“Rainbow Fashion Week is a unique fashion event, the festival showcases emerging fashion, art, entertainment and technology, and looks to cultivate social campaigns across multi-platform entertainment mediums. It’s not just your everyday fashion runway – it’s a celebration of individuality, unique creativity and spirit,” E. Jaguar Beckford, Director and founder of Rainbow Fashion week says of the event.
Living out loud and proud models, designers, hair stylists and fashion professionals are represented at the many festival events–including a Queer Kids Fashion Show, Gay Film Festival, Inside the Celebrity Closet Runway and more.
This year, through an exciting partnership forged between Rainbow Fashion Festival and International Event and Entertainment Company BLING, the festival will present four exciting Australian designers as part of an exclusive runway event. House of Bling will showcase four distinctly different designers all the way from Australia.
“The Australian showcase event – House of Bling, on 20th June, will be electric! We’ve brought together an electric runway featuring fashion guru and highly sought-after Australian queen designer MATCHO SUBA; the bespoke and divine evening wear glamour of TETTMANN.DOUST; sparkly handcrafted and bedazzling heels from CRYSTAL SHOE COUTURE, and the emerging eclectic boho designs of Maia Lillford,” Director BLING Ginni Saraswati has said of the showcase.
“We’ll have gorgeous queer and trans models wearing the hottest runway looks from Australia. We’re thrilled to be coming over the NYC, bringing with us stunning couture fashion. It’s a pleasure and a privilege to be a part of such an iconic fashion event.”
One of the country’s up and coming media personalities with a breakfast show on Australia’s first and only LGBTIQ radio station JOY 94.9 and a regular on Bent TV, Saraswati feels home at New York and is ready to take a bite out of the big apple with her team of designers.
With Event Director Extraordinaire Sofie Ham who’s background entails event management of the Aids Conference and the AFI awards to name a few – she’s leading the way for this amazing runway for Australia to BLING it.
