Mindi Mimosa, co-host of Barenaked Comedy
For the past two years, Barenaked Comedy has been mesmerizing audiences with their original stand-up comedy and burlesque hybrid show. After a brief holiday break, the debauchery is bringing back the laughter and nudity Friday, January 29 at the Bier Baron Tavern in Dupont Circle.
Barenaked Comedy was derived a way for D.C. audiences to reconnect with the roots of variety arts while staying contemporary and relevant. Co-founders Mindi Mimosa and David Coulter have had countless sold out shows between the 2015 Capital Fringe Festival and their series of monthly shows at the Pinch in Columbia Heights. Mindi Mimosa’s performances always take center stage with her sassy quick wit. Coulter has been doing stand up for years. His thoughtful humor with a dash of crudeness leave audiences in stitches. They recently were rated “Best Of” at the 2015 Capital Fringe Festival by DC Theater Arts. With every show being more enticing than the last, Barenaked Comedy guarantees not to disappoint.
The premiere at Bier Baron Tavern is the first of five shows in the 2016 season. The Bier Baron is known for its vast beer selection and sinfully delicious menu. Among others, joining the dynamic duo will be the impeccable Dainty Dandridge of Chocolate City Bulesque and Cabaret. Adding to this already titillating show is comedian David Tveite, who was featured on the last season of NBC’s Last Comic Standing. The line-up comprised of the best dancers and comedians the east coast has to offer.
Barenaked Comedy is dedicated to creating a “fun and sparkly, safe space for all genders and body types.” Barenaked Comedy is “vaudeville repacked for the new millennium,” describes Mindi Mimosa.
