Recently, two Atlanta, Georgia lesbians posted a video on YouTube titled “10 Worst Ways to Come Out”. Within several days the video has received over 665,000 views and counting. So, who are these Atlanta residents?

Chrissy Chambers and Bria Kam are not only a well-known lesbian duo online, but the two are an actual couple that has been together since November 2011. Having recently come out at the time, Chambers had been working up the courage to finally meet a girl. The stars aligned for the pair when they met at a local gay bar.

“I walked up to Chrissy and told her she was beautiful, and we immediately hit it off,” says Kam. “I was so struck by her beauty, her smile, and the way she looked at me. The rest is history.”

Somewhere in between their courtship, the duo realized they could literally make sweet music together. Both women share a passion for music and the arts. It was Kam’s brother who encouraged her to put her musical and acting talents on the Internet. Their first video was posted for a Freedom to Marry song competition that they eventually won. The “Dear Chick-fil-A” song became an instant hit with YouTube viewers and LGBT supporters.

Their topics vary. At the beginning, they picked topics based off what was newsworthy or “hot at the moment”. However after the support they started receiving from the LGBT community, they were inspired to make more content for the fight for equality, but also have a little fun too.

“We think of video topics randomly, often when we are getting ready for bed or out hiking, says Chambers. “They just pop up. We quickly write them down, and then we have a couple pages of ideas.”

Chambers and Kam are extremely passionate about what they are doing, which is apparent from their videos. They look forward to continuing their acting and music on a larger scale. Their first album titled “Face Your Fears” will be released by the end of the year. The single off of the album touches on the struggles of coming out and being comfortable within your own skin.

“We’d love to be the first ever successful lesbian pop duo,” says Chambers. “We are go with the flow kind of girls, so we will see where our lives’ paths take us.”

If you can’t get enough of these ladies, you can catch Chambers in the upcoming horror movie, “+1”, being released on September 20, 2013. The pair also enjoys interacting and engaging with their viewers. So the comments and messages are always welcome and appreciated.

“It’s an honor to get to be a part of such a loving and supportive community,” says Kam. “We couldn’t have asked for a better audience.”
