Capital Pride is hosting its 2nd Annual Holiday Heatwave Celebration on Monday, December 1, 2014, at the Human Rights Campaign Equality Center from 7:30 p.m. – 10:00 p.m.

The event is a festive holiday party that will celebrate a year of Pride in the Nation’s Capital, as well as honor Capital Pride’s non-profit community partners. Each organization will receive a portion of the proceeds from all purchased tickets. The non-profit partners include Whitman-Walker Health, the Human Rights Campaign, Food & Friends, The DC Center, Habitat for Humanity, and more.

Holiday Heatwave also serves to help promote #GivingTuesday, which occurs the next day.  On Tuesday, December 2, 2014, charities, families, businesses, community centers, and students around the world will come together for one common purpose:  to celebrate generosity and donate funds to causes they support.  It’s a simple idea that allows people, families, communities, and organizations to come together to give just a little bit more.

The holiday event will be a true feast for the senses with delicious food, drinks, music, and entertainment. The tasting stations are being generously sponsored by Putting on the Ritz Catering, Catering by LT, Design Cuisine, Luke’s Lobster, DC Empanadas, Penn Commons, Celebrity Cruises, and Bloomery Plantation Distillery.

Tickets are $25 in advance and $30 at the door, if available. Tickets can be purchased online through the Capital Pride website: capitalpride.org/heatwave/tickets.
