Yes, Washington, D.C. has just been blanketed with snow, but I invite you all to daydream with me about summertime beach adventures, peach margaritas on the rooftop, sundresses, sandals, and, of course, pride season.
Capital Pride will host its second Pride Reveal event this Thursday, January 23 at the swanky W Hotel. Ryan Bos, Executive Director for Capital Pride sees the event as “an opportunity to bring the community together to kick off 2014.”
” [You can expect] a cocktail social and networking opportunity to learn about Capital Pride’s marquee events for 2014,” according to Bos.
The Pride committee will be spotlighting sponsors, partners, and non-profit organizations that provide services and support for the community. The highlight of the evening will be the theme reveal for the District’s upcoming Pride.
“Last year’s theme was ‘Superheroes: Unleash the Superhero in You,’” says Bos. “This is the 2nd annual event of its kind featuring more activities to excite and engage guests.”
“I’m excited the W Hotel will host the event again and has given us more space to see the people who come out and rally around what our community has to offer,” says Bos. “D.C. received some coverage in the past couple months for having the largest gay community, and I’m excited to help the community see why that is.”
“If you haven’t been to the W, it’s an opportunity to experience the venue and view,” adds Bos. He also points out the outdoor areas will be enclosed and spotted with heaters so you’ll have something besides your drink to keep you warm.
I don’t know about you, but I’m feeling some serious cabin fever setting in. It’s time to put on real clothes, venture out into the world, and talk to humans. If you’re thinking, ‘I do that everyday’ then you must be employed—therefore life is stressful and you probably need a drink. If it sounds like a new or rare adventure, you’re on my team, and therefore you also need a drink.
