On Wednesday, Mayor Muriel Bowser appointed local resident Courtney R. Snowden to D.C. Deputy Mayor for Economic Opportunity. The senior-level appointment is a new position in the D.C. government.
Snowden has close ties to Washington, D.C. as a long-time resident and a 2014 D.C. Council candidate. Now, she will focus her efforts on helping residents east of the river with finding jobs and starting businesses.
