December may be the coldest month of the year, but for patrons of the Black Cat, it’s about to get sizzling hot. On Friday, December 12, co-producers Glam Gamz and Dainty Dandridge will present the Down and Dirty Holigay Blues Burlesque Show, bringing together some of the best queer talent in the industry for a night that will surely make audience members forget about those wintertime woes.

“For the queer community, it is an opportunity to be celebrated in a safe, positive, and affirming space—whether as a performer or as an audience member,” says Glam.

The Best of Burles(queer) first began in Baltimore, where it was founded by Roma Mafia. When Roma relocated to the West Coast, Dainty and Glam were able to work together to bring the show to the Black Cat in Washington, D.C., a centrally located and queer-friendly club known for its support of the LGBT and queer community.

Both Dainty and Dutch Oven will host the event, promising to keep attendees sizzling in their stockings. Performers will include Cherie Nuit, Glam Gamz, Gypsy Dantes, Fox Martin, and Pussy Noir. The luscious Lexie Starre will be “kittening” through the evening.

“Our show presents sexy, beautiful queers from varying areas of the gender and orientation spectrum, showcasing different performance styles,” says Dainty. “We want to make burlesque accessible and give performers the opportunity to showcase their acts that speak to queer audiences.”

The Down and Dirty Holigay Blues show will hit the stage for a one-time debut on Friday, December 12. Showtime is 9:30 p.m. For more information or to purchase tickets, click here.
