On July 9, 2014, Ebony Magazine released an article, “10 Black LGBT Trailblazers on the Rise.” Included on their list are Orange Is the New Black actress Laverne Cox and 2013 WNBA draft pick Brittney Griner.
The list was created to highlight individuals “making moves in their respective fields, while courageously living out loud…and trailblazers who are doing the work of creating and redefining culture.”
