Chattanooga, TN, Chattanooga Pride

October 6, 2023 - October 8, 2023

While most Pride celebrations for 2023 are in the rearview mirror, Chattanooga is rolling out its Rainbow Flags for its annual Pride celebration taking place the first weekend in October (coinciding with LGBTQ History Month). Tennessee’s Scenic City will feature an array of festivities with many LGTBQ-owned restaurants and businesses opening their doors to visitors both near and far.
The plush Dwell Hotel, recognized as a World Rainbow Hotel and signaling to the LGBTQ+ community that it’s a welcoming environment, is one of Chattanooga’s many hotels welcoming Pride attendees.
What to Expect during Chattanooga’s Pride:
  • Leading up to the Pride Parade on October 8, Tennessee Valley Pride is hosting several events, from a themed brunch to a sign-making party. Other happenings can be found on their Instagram page: @chattpride.
  • Movie in the Park: A free screening of “Strange World” will take place after dark at Miller Park with vendors and food trucks available. Guests are encouraged to bring blankets and lounge chairs for optimum movie viewing.
  • Sunset Pride Paddle: Hosted by LGBTQ-owned Outshine Adventures this leisurely-paced paddle board adventure takes place along the Tennessee River. All equipment is provided along with basic paddling instructions, making it a great experience for novice paddlers.
  • Haunted Houses of Pride Ball: Paying homage to the ballroom and vogueing culture that originated in Harlem during the 1960s, this festive gathering will have tiered prices for those who wish to participate.
  • Cashew is an LGBTQ-owned eatery offering fresh and nutritionally balanced meals using minimal ingredients that are packed with flavor.
