Emily Dickinson and Walt Whitman, considered by many to be the foundation stones of modern American poetry, will be discussed, and participants will be asked to consider the miraculous unlikelihood of these two grandparents an the ways they can inspire our approaches to poetry. Led by Dan Vera, co-editor of Imaniman: Poets Writing in the Anzaluan Borderlands, and author of of two books of poetry, Speaking Wiri Wiri and The Space Between Our Danger and Delight.
