In a few words, how would you describe yourself?
This is a hard question to answer in just a few words…I am a proud transgender female. I officially came out as trans in October 2018. Although I am in cybersecurity, my passions have shifted since coming out and I have become involved in DEI (Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion) efforts inside and outside my workplace.
Your favorite hangout spots.
Family and friends.
Favorite guilty pleasure.
Barq’s Root Beer.
Favorite quote.
“The only thing we have to fear, is fear itself.” -Franklin D. Roosevelt
Who is your biggest influence? And why?
Me! I push myself to be the best version of myself as I can. It’s not always easy. It’s not about how easy or hard something is, it’s about whether or not it will make a difference in someone’s life.
Do you have any regrets in life?
Not coming out sooner. I waited for 47 years to be my authentic self. However, I don’t believe the world was ready for me and I was not ready for the world.
Favorite lesbian/queer celebrity.
Haley Kiyoko.
Any fun facts or anything else you want our readers to know?
I am huge Jeep fan. I have a Jeep Wrangler named Black Betty. I have an innate ability to fix anything except a broken heart. My mind works in such a way, it can figure out what is not working and fix it.
On June 18, 2021, Josephine will be a special guest on “Intentional Conversations,” a vodcast of discussions intersecting DEI, Leadership and Business.
