At a three-day retreat in upstate New York, Marina Abramovic instructed her friend Lady Gaga in the Abramovic Method–a series of exercises designed to heighten participants’ awareness of their physical and mental experience in the present moment.
Abramovic and Gaga both share a taste for provocative visual arts. The Marina Abramovic Institute (MAI) recently released a new video for their kickstarter campaign, featuring Lady Gaga. In the video Gaga stays fully dedicated to exposing herself to the practice, in more ways than one.
Marina Abramovic Institute (MAI) will be the first space dedicated to practicing the Abramovic Method, which prepares participants to both perform and observe long durational work.
