“MOVE” with Mautner Project of Whitman-Walker Health

Health and fitness program open to lesbians, bisexual, and transgender women

Mautner Project of Whitman-Walker Health is looking for a few good women who want to get in better shape this Fall. Specifically, they are looking for lesbians, bisexual, and transgender women ages 40 and older to join their M.O.V.E. (Making Our Vitality Evident) Program.

M.O.V.E was created for women who want to get in shape in a supportive LGBT environment.

“M.O.V.E. is a four-month program in both D.C. and Silver Spring,” said Meghan Davies, Director of Community Health at Whitman-Walker. “Participants will learn to track their exercise and eating habits in an environment that wants nothing more than to see them succeed!”

Participants will receive a free four-month gym membership, free personal nutrition consultations, a free personal trainer assessment, and a weekly group meeting to build support for participants.

“We know that many women have tried in the past to eat better, exercise more, and get healthier but haven’t been able to achieve their goals,” said Davies. “It’s hard to do this alone. Working together, these women will have many resources to reach their individual fitness goals.”

For more information or to join M.O.V.E., call 202.797.4406 or e-mail move@whitman-walker.org.
