Whitman-Walker Health will observe National Black HIV/AIDS Awareness Day on Thursday, February 6, and Friday, February 7, with free HIV testing through their mobile testing unit and at the Elizabeth Taylor Medical Center.
This year will mark the 33rd Anniversary of HIV/AIDS in the United States and I have been reflecting on the impact it has had on my life. I “came out” as a lesbian in 1986, what some consider to be the height of the HIV/AIDS crisis in the U.S.
