Episode 60 – Queer History: The Well of Loneliness by Radclyffe Hall

Jade and Chelsea dive into the lesbian tragedy “The Well of Loneliness” by Radclyffe Hall. The 1928 book was the first English novel to feature lesbianism. Some might say it was one of the original lesbian tropes. It follows the life of Stephen Gordon, an Englishwoman from an upper-class family whose “sexual inversion” (homosexuality) is apparent from an early age.
