“We’re so humbled by the generosity of all those who came out to support us at Going the Extra Mile last week. And it’s not just the historic financial support we received from so many. It’s also the hundreds of lawyers who continue to offer their time as volunteers that truly makes it possible for us to provide critical legal assistance to 2,500 people each year. The work of Whitman-Walker’s legal services team is proof positive of the power of the legal community working together to save lives,” said Amy Nelson, Director of Legal Services.
The event honored the DCPS Office of Youth Engagement, Health, and Wellness and Adam Tenner with the Joel A. Toubin Memorial Award. SaVanna KB Wanzer (pictured above) was honored with the inaugural Robert Fenner Urquhart award.
