In a few words, how would you describe yourself?
Bold, yet fruity.

Your favorite hangout spots.
9:30 Club and Black Cat are my go-to’s for great music and good vibrations.

Favorite quote.
“Only the ideas we actually live are of any value.” – Hermann Hesse

Who is your biggest influence? And why?
Bjork is on the top of that long list of influences. There’s so much depth and beauty to her music. There is complexity yet accessibility of her songs, with the brilliant people she collaborates with, and the amazing live shows she designs are a testament to her creative spirit.

Favorite event.
D.C. is so rich with music, art and history it’s tough to choose just one. But if I must, I’d probably go with Fort Reno. It doesn’t get much better than watching the sunset while listening to great music with your best pals. Though, if I could choose an upcoming event that would obviously be Tom Goss’ album release party at Sixth & I on May 31. I’ll be there on drums and it’s going to be a great show!

Do you have any regrets in life?
Haha, jeez that’s a tough one. I’m pretty hard on myself and often have a “grass-is-greener” complex, which takes me out of the moment and into my “what-if” dreams. It’s a fine line between pushing myself to greater things and being centered in what I’m doing. So, to answer the question, I have little bubbles of regret every time I lose sight of the here and now.

Favorite lesbian celebrity.
It may sound cliché but I really appreciate Ellen DeGeneres. I love that she’s made “gay” ordinary.

Any fun facts or anything else you want our readers to know?
Oh, I have plenty of fun facts! Fun fact #1: I’m in two other bands, other than Tom Goss’. They are Cane & the Sticks (raucous rock) and The Pushovers (indie pop with 2 other queer ladies) and I play original music for kids as The Singing Lizard. And no, I don’t dress up like a lizard; Fun Fact #2: I am working on a remix for Tom Goss’ new album, Wait; and Fun Fact #3: My Dad, who was once a preacher, is now out and proud (and smokin’ hot); and Fun Fact #4 is a secret. But I’ll tell you if you promise to come to Tom Goss’ CD release party.
