Name: Anne Ross
City, State: Vienna, VA
Profession: Owner and Director of Across Counseling
Website: AcrossCounseling.com

In a few words, how would you describe yourself?
I am someone who loves people and adventure and I value my family and friends above all else.

Your favorite hangout spots.
Any place I can spend time with friends sharing a good meal and conversation, being on the water, or on an adventure.

Favorite guilty pleasure.
Driving my sports car a little too fast.

Favorite quote.
“And the day came when the risk to remain tight in a bud was more painful than the risk it took to blossom.” -Anais Nin

Who is your biggest influence? And why?
It’s hard to choose one important influence in my life. Each of my children has been a huge influence from the day they were born. My partner is also an influence in my life every day. They have all brought so many new things into my life.

Favorite event.
So many great events but I have to say the top favorites would be Broadway shows, other live theatre [productions], and events that my family members are a part of.

Do you have any regrets in life?
It’s been a bit of a tough road at times, but I love where the journey has taken me.

Favorite lesbian celebrity.
Ellen.

Any fun facts or anything else you want our readers to know?
I am a long-time member of the DC Front Runners, an LGBTQ running and walking club. I have met many of my closest friends through Front Runners. I have served on the board for many years and continue to promote membership and events for our women members.

Also, I’ve been taking watercolor painting classes and I love it. As my friends know, I take a lot of photos so maybe I will be able to turn some of them into paintings.
