EDEN's San Fransico Pride

San Francisco’s largest weekend for women

EDEN San Fransisco Pride
EDEN San Francisco is celebrating its fifth anniversary with California’s top talented female artists and backed up with star power of celebrities during four days of parties for queer women during San Francisco pride weekend, June 26 – 29, 2014.

Founded by Christine De La Rosa, also known as Miz Chris, EDEN Pride is committed to bringing quality events of every genre to the Bay Area, as well as to their regional, national and international constituencies. They challenge themselves into making those ideas become a reality for their team, their artists, their performers, their DJs, vendors and communities.

According to organizers, this year’s celebration will be their largest weekend ever, with women from across the nation, celebrity hosts, DJs, and entertainers.

“At an EDEN SF event, guests can expect amazing entertainment and beautiful women,” says Heather Cassell, Media Director for EDEN Pride. “Year after year guests get an experience that brings them back again and again from our fashion shows, comedy, concerts, and parties. No other promoter in town comes close to producing what EDEN has been able to create and accomplish year after year.”

Headlining this year’s EDEN Pride is R&B singer and songwriter Goapele. Well-known for her chart topping hit “Closer”, she is looking forward to sharing her new songs from her upcoming new album “Strong As Glass”.

“I’ll be doing some new songs, which I’m excited about. I’m getting ready to put out a new album this fall. I’m getting ready for that and starting to share some of that,” says Goapele.

Other celebrity guests and entertainers include: Rap artist Colette Carr, Jessica Clark (HBO’s True Blood), Ari Fitz of (MTV’s Real World), Lauren Bedford Russell (Showtime’s The Real L World), and emerging queer rapper Oh Blimey.

“I love the diversity of the team, events we produce and the audiences we attract. It truly reflects the world I live in,” says Cassell. “Then on top of it, EDEN gives back to the community with the EDEN LGBTQ Youth Foundation, supporting LGBTQ youth higher education and programs to help develop our future leaders.”

The weekend starts off with a Thursday kickoff party and closes out with their Sunday after-party, which includes a Skyy Vodka open bar and music by DJ Dirty Rich Kidd, DJ Lady Ryan, and DJ Lezlee. Goapele will perform live at Saturday night’s fifth anniversary event at Mezzanine. The headliner is well aware of the support she has received from the LGBTQ community during her career.

“I appreciate that support, and I feel like it’s been part of that larger community for a long time (since the beginning),” says Goapele. I like looking out into the audience and seeing different people who normally don’t come together. My shows are a safe place for people.”
