On Sunday, February 16, women in the D.C. Metropolitan area will convene for a night of music, entertainment and celebration at the annual Her HRC event.

“Attendees can expect a fantastic evening filled with guest speakers, performers, music, and community of women coming together to have fun and support the cause,” says Megan McKellar, Co-Chair of the Her HRC DC.

In the last five years, the national Her HRC event has united thousands of women in 26 different cities. The Her HRC DC event is not only one of the premier women’s parties in the area, but it’s also the top rated Her HRC event in the country.

“By working with performers, promoters, community members, and organizations we are able to really step beyond what one person or one organization can do and provide something truly authentic that captures the essence of our community,” says McKellar.

One of the most anticipated events of the evening is the Battle of the DJs, where four local female DJs battle it out for the title of crowd favorite. This year, DJ Dee Dub, DJ India, DJ MIM, and DJ Rosie, will bring their musical talents to the booth to keep women dancing all night long. Other portions of the evening include a VIP reception at 7 p.m. and the Phase 1 after party. Guests are also encouraged to attend the President’s Day ladies brunch hosted by Hank’s Oyster Bar on Monday, February 17.

Ticket prices to the event range from $15 general admission to $200 host recognition. All funds raised are set aside to support the work and initiatives of the Human Rights Campaign. These proceeds will have a direct impact on the fight for marriage equality and the effort to pass an all-inclusive ENDA.

“We are able to bring together so many different audiences and really capture the diversity and spirit that is the D.C. women’s scene,” explains McKellar. Attendance at Her HRC also gives attendees a one-year HRC membership where members will hear about the important work this organization does year round.

“We could never do this without The Ladies of LURe, Town, Phase 1, Tagg Magazine, and so many more,” says an appreciative McKellar.

The Her HRC event will be held Sunday, February 16 at Town Danceboutique located at 2009 8th St. N.W. from 7 p.m. – 12 a.m.  To purchase tickets to this event, click here.
