If there’s something strange in your neighborhood, who you gonna call? Well, it looks like you’ll be calling the new cast of the Ghostbusters remake. Melissa McCarthy has already signed on for the new film directed by Paul Feig. Sony is currently negotiating with Saturday Night Live funny ladies Leslie Jones, Kate McKinnon, and Kristen Wiig. Feig has previously worked with McCarthy and Wiig in Bridesmaids.
According to The Hollywood Reporter:
Negotiations are ongoing but the quartet are expected to sign on as the specter-seeking, poltergeist-punishing and phantom-phollowing foursome in the reboot, which is eyeing a summer shoot in New York.
Originally the Ghostbusters reboot was slated to have the original cast members, but producers could not get Bill Murray to sign on. Later, Feig was tapped to make an all-female cast for the new movie. And for that, we are thankful!
Though we wish the film could be out right now, according to the director the movie will be out July 2016. Needless to say, we will be getting our lives the summer of 2016. Mark your calendars!
