Supporters Gather for 'Out & Ready for Hillary'

Ready for Hillary 2016

Wednesday, January 15 at 7:00 p.m., Ready for Hillary will host an “Out & Ready for Hillary” LGBT event at Town Danceboutique in Washington, D.C. The Ready for Hillary organization was started by two volunteers last year and has become a grassroots movement encouraging the former Secretary of State, Hillary Clinton to run for president in 2016. They believe Clinton’s historic election would build upon the progress of President Obama and continue to lead the United States into the future.

Special guests and speakers include: Kris Perry and Sandy Stier, plaintiffs in Hollingstwoth v. Perry case challenging Prop 8, Michelle Clunie of Queer as Folk, LGBT activists Lane Hudson and Peter Rosenstein, and Ready for Hillary LGBT Americans Director, Lisa Changadveja.

Fresh off the Prop 8 and DOMA case, Perry and Stier are looking forward to attending the event. After the US Supreme Court decision, the couple has been able to get married, enjoy a honeymoon, and spend more time with their family. They both are supporters of seeing Clinton run for president.

“This event is a great opportunity to get excited about the possibility of keeping a democrat in office,” says Perry. “We are happy to support a woman who is pro choice, pro LGBT, and pro family.”

The event organizers are eager to send the message that they are ready for Clinton to run for president in 2016, and hope that other LGBT community members join in. Tickets for Out & Ready for Hillary are $20.16 and available at https://www.readyforhillary.com/events/outdc. Similar grassroots fundraising events will continue to take place around the country.
