On Saturday, June 20, Achieving Joy will be hosting their first couple’s workshop, The Needs Project. Achieving Joy’s vision is to empower the LGBTQ community by offering skills to build strong meaningful relationships and manifest the lives we desire. According to their website, the organization was founded “as an opportunity to improve the overall mental wellness of the queer women’s community”.
The Needs Project promises to help couples express their relationship desires in a safe environment. Participants will learn how to create a relationship shared vision, articulate their needs to their partner, and plan to create the relationship each person desires.
“Healing past hurt is not only acknowledging what has happened, but developing a shared plan for what we want to happen in the future,” says Joy Petway, the founder of Achieving Joy.
The four-hour workshop will take place on June 20 from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. at 1325 Quincy St. NE DC (10 minute walk from Brookland metro). For more information or to register, visit www.achievingjoy.com.
