Are you ready to discover new levels of self-acceptance, self-love, and self-expression? Would you like to have more honest, loving, and healthy relationships?

On September 12 – 14, 2014, The Ford Institute will host their Shadow Process Workshop at the Key Bridge Marriott in Arlington, VA. The “pride edition” workshop created by #1 New York Times bestselling author Debbie Ford is a three-day interactive event exclusively for the queer community.

Though Ford passed away in 2013, it was her dream to offer The Shadow Process to the LGBTQ community because she believed it is impossible to get love, respect, and acceptance from the outer world until you find it within yourself.

Ford described the process as “…a chance to finally love the parts of yourself that you’ve spent a lifetime believing are unlovable. It is an environment that allows you to accept things about yourself and life that you’ve deemed unacceptable. It’s an opportunity to reclaim aspects of yourself that in the privacy of your own heart you may believe are irretrievable.”

Participants of the workshop can expect a safe space amongst other members of the LGBTQ community. Attendees will be supported in overcoming the obstacles that block their path to full self-acceptance, intimacy, empowerment, and success.

“The Shadow Process is a safe container for people to come together, let down their guards, speak their truth, make peace with their past, and revel in knowing they are worthy and deserving of owning their magnificence, beauty, brilliance, and confidence,” says Kelley Kosow, Shadow Process Leader.

The Shadow Process is supported by several LGBTQ integrative coaches certified by The Ford Institute for Transformational Training.

“When I first walked into the workshop, I had a lot of shame and fear. The process of self-acceptance and coming out were very difficult for me. I felt stuck and alone,” says Kathy Hertz, an Integrative Coach and member of the LGBTQ community. “In three days, The Shadow Process taught me more about myself than therapy had in 30 years. It opened me up to new levels of self-love, trust, acceptance, and connection with my inner voice and authentic self.”
