It’s official: Infamous adult video megasite Pornhub has entered its sapphic era. On Tuesday, the company launched a new site dedicated to lesbian and non-binary content and creators.
Alex Kekesi, VP of Brand and Community at Pornhub says, “Pornhub Sapphic was created in direct response to feedback from lesbian, queer, and straight women who told us they wanted an experience that felt made for them.”
Instead of collecting existing content on the site that may have been made for men fantasizing about sapphic sex, Pornhub Sapphic is something new. “By working with creators and users, we’ve built a space where women-loving-women content is featured and celebrated. For creators, Pornhub Sapphic offers new opportunities to connect with an engaged audience actively seeking their categories of content. For viewers, it’s about providing women with a dedicated place to explore and enjoy adult entertainment with their experiences and desires in mind,” Kekesi says.
Not only was this made for us, but it was made in collaboration with us. According to a press release, “Pornhub Sapphic was developed in partnership with lesbian, queer, and straight women to deliver an experience that truly captures their desires and perspectives.” Audience feedback also helped shape the enhanced Sapphic experience, including its curated environment, which is free from male-targeted ads like traditional enlargement promotions.
Women account for 38% of Pornhub’s global audience, and “lesbian” is the most viewed category among women—reflecting an undeniable interest in women-loving-women content among female viewers. The name of this new site is intentionally focused on inclusion, as “sapphic” is widely used to describe attraction between women and within women-loving-women communities, including lesbian, trans, bisexual, and non-binary identities.
The launch also includes a formal rollout featuring prominent sapphic creators, including award-winning duo The JellyFilledGirls, helping introduce Pornhub Sapphic to audiences across Pornhub.
