Later today hundreds of Marylanders will gather at Lawyer's Mall in support of the Fairness for All Marylanders Act of 2014. This bill will update state law to include transgender individuals in the state's anti-discriminaton laws.
Michael McBride, 23, of Washington, D.C., was sentenced today to 10 years in prison for stabbing a transgender woman last year in Southeast Washington.

Washington, D.C. legislators have taken yet another significant stride toward bringing transgender equality to the District. Recently, councilmembers unanimously approved the JaParker Deoni Jones Birth Certificate Equality Amendment Act of 2013.
