Names: Lonnie Fowler & Toni Clark
Ages: Lonnie, 34; Toni, 45
Professions: Lonnie is a Data Entry Specialist and Toni is an Administrative Assistant.
City, State: Landover, MD
Date of Wedding: September 20, 2014
The Big Day: The wedding will be held at the Montpelier Mansion in Laurel, MD. The overall theme of the wedding is urban chic. In five words, our wedding day is “A Celebration of Love!” What makes this wedding unique is simply there is no tradition. The fact that the wedding will be a blend of our personalities make the day, itself, unique. The Save the Dates read, “At Last” and that’s how we feel. We have come so far and our love has survived and withstood it all, continuing to grow with each day. So, our love is like certain song titles – “At Last” and “Unforgettable”. As for Toni’s favorite aspect of the wedding, it’s to be able to get married, legally, in the state they reside. Lonnie agrees with Toni, adding that they’ve waited so long for this honor. The “WOW” factor for both of us would be the location of the ceremony. Toni believes her dress is also a wow factor and Lonnie believes it to be her bride to be. Lonnie’s most excited about it being their day. It’s the start of a new journey together and that’s a blessing.
The Firsts:
First meeting: June 1999 at a gathering. Lonnie was already there and Toni walked in with a mutual associate.
First date: Our first date was July 1999 at Hogates, and then we drove to the Georgetown waterfront to stroll the pier.
First kiss: Our first kiss was in August 1999, after one of our many dates leading up to it.
When They Knew: Lonnie knew when she first saw Toni walk into the gathering. Lonnie fell for her that night. Toni knew when she realized she’d rather sit in silence with Lonnie than be alone.
The Proposal: Lonnie proposed in the flower garden of the Smithsonian Museum.
The Ring(s): Princess cut 3.05 carat Black diamond surrounded by princess cut white diamonds in Rose Gold.
Honeymoon: We will honeymoon in Las Vegas, NV.
Looking into the Future: We’ve spent the last 10 years cultivating and sowing our relationship to this point and look forward to watching it bloom into something to be admired by all.
